The potter and the clay are a beautiful metaphor that has been used in the Bible more that any other metaphor. Potter’s Inn was created with this image; God as our potter, digging us out of the clay and creating us in His perfect image. Today we are talking to sculptor Scott Stearman, who shapes clay to tell stories that endure the test of time and culture. Join us for this soul giving conversation that helps us all understand each of our spiritual transformation.
Today’s Guest - Scott Stearman
As a child that grew up in Kansas, Scott’s family would vacation in Colorado every summer. He dreamed that someday he would live in the mountains. In 1985, Scott and his wife Hermine decided it was time to chase the dream. They sold everything, loaded a U-Haul with what was left and headed west to the Rockies.
Scott now lives in Oklahoma, still living his dream everyday as a professional sculptor, telling stories through bronze.

We are offering this beautiful sculpture created by today’s guest Scott Stearman. It shows the hands of the master potter touching and guiding the hands of the apprentice. It’s a lovely piece that tells the story of each of our spiritual formations. The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,
Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.
Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.
And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.
Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the Lord. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.
We depend on your support to carry on the ministry of Potter's Inn. Each of our ministry staff also raise their own financial support for salaries to serve with our team.
